We Survived Wilma
Wilma has hit us with sustained winds of up to 111 mph and wind gusts of up to 127 mph.It caused an awful lot of damage to the whole tri-county area (Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach), but thanks God my home, my community and even my city of Doral only got some fallen trees and power outages.
We're OK. We still don't have power and, according to the authorities, we shouldn't expect it to be reestablished for a full week. This is bad, and it gonna be worst. Many of us, and specially me, didn't give this hurricane the right importance and didn't make the right preparations. Now, we're headed to a terrible week. I hope the FPL works faster and restores the power for the more than 6 million people. But meanwhile I'll start the chase for the ice, so I can keep the food inside my fridge.
Here are some useful information for Miami-Dade county residents:
* Miami-Dade Emergency Operation Center
* Water and Ice distribution centers
* FPL Outages Online Status check

* FPL Toll Free number for reporting and checking outages status: 1-800-468-8243
* FPL Outage Numbers by County
